* The inspection scoring system now in place was first instituted on March 24, of 2003.  The practice was temporarily suspended between November 3, 2004 and February 18, 2005.  As a result, violation points were not assessed for any restaurants inspected between November 3, 2004 and February 18, 2005.  Instead, a "not applicable" or "*" is indicated in the search result.  Additionally, violation points are not assessed for Smoke Free or Clean Indoor Air Act, trans fat or calorie labeling violations. These violations do not affect passing or failing for a food service establishment sanitary inspection.  However, trans fat or calorie labeling violations result in follow-up inspections to assure compliance with the law.  Most Smoke Free or Clean Indoor Air Act violations result in a follow-up inspection to assure compliance with the law.
